Tatreez – Now, Then, and Forever!
Tatreez is mundane yet high art, produced every day by women in the Arab world. Palestinian villages and towns have special stitching patterns and dress designs which used to be a marker of the origin of its wearer. After long years of seemingly slowly vanishing, the art and the fashion is alive and kicking, with tatreez classes being taught on Instagram and dresses turned from a traditional appearance into haute couture.
Look forward to the festival’s next season – we will be showing tatreez fashion, featuring body positivity and emphasizing the wearability of Tatreez pieces for all ages and all sizes.
